Competent authorities from the countries of Central America – Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua – have released the first draft of the Regional Organic Standard for Central America and the Domincan Repulbic, and have invited comments from constituents in their countries. Panama and the Dominican Republic, which are also participating in this regional standard, are due to invite comments soon . Stakeholders in these countries who wish to participate in the comment process may contact GOMA’s Latin American Coordinator, Patricia Flores, patriciafloresescudero@gmail.com , for assistance to obtain the draft standard and information on giving comments. The preparation of the Standard is supported by GOMA and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA)..
